Title-GIANT TCR 2 $1100-Race inspired frame meets everything-must-go price
Findings:
- "Given our experience with Giant, the TCR 2 felt as expected, but surprised us with a ride so saucy that it was easy to forget that the TCR 2 is considered an entry-, rather than mid-level, performance bike. The impressively light 6000-series Aluxx butted aluminum and compact design yield a stout, responsive frameset. We didn't detect a hint of flex or sway; the bike responded to our slightest lean or thrust. When we stood out of the saddle, we were greeted with instant acceleration."
- "A parts check reveals that Giant, as we've come to expect, packs more value into its bikes than almost any company out there. For a bike in this category, Shimano 105 STI shifters and rear derailleur and the Truvativ Elita GPX crankset are bargains. And the Fi'zi:k Aliante Sport saddle and Michelin Dynamic tires are a downright shock. Giant's blend of value and performance earned the company two of our Editor's choice awards in 2004, and with '05 bikes like the TCR 2, it will surely be in the running again.
